Claude Code v2.1.314 (Oct 30)
Adds permissions.blockWritesOutsideWorkingDirectories, so Write, Edit and NotebookEdit refuse paths outside the working directories in every permission mode. Adds an optional groups list to Claude apps gateway upstreams, guardrail_trace for gateway Bedrock upstreams, and idle compaction in VS Code and Claude Desktop's Code tab for conversations over 200K tokens. Fixes "Invalid effort level" when an admin caps a model's effort, and claude -p now prints the error and exits 1 instead of exiting 0 silently on startup failure.
Claude Code v2.1.312 (Oct 27)
Adds oidc.user_id_claim to the Claude apps gateway and click-to-send on queued messages in fullscreen. Limits prompt and agent hooks to 24 at a time per session and stops sending the claude_code.safety_event OpenTelemetry event. Bedrock, Vertex, Foundry and Mantle use the shorter system prompt for unrecognized model names; CLAUDE_CODE_SIMPLE_SYSTEM_PROMPT=0 keeps the full prompt.
Usage and Cost Analytics API (beta) (Oct 29)
Launches /v1/organizations/analytics/usage and /v1/organizations/analytics/cost under the analytics-usage-cost-2026-08-24 beta header. Both endpoints report token usage and cost for Console and Enterprise organizations, filterable by model, workspace, API key and user or service account. The older Usage and Cost API and the Enterprise Analytics report endpoints are now legacy but still supported.
Messages API request size limit raised to 128 MB (Oct 28)
Raises the maximum request size for the Messages API and Token Counting API on the first-party Claude API from 32 MB to 128 MB.
