Redesigning source control at Anthropic (Oct 13)

Anthropic replaces Git internally with Scion, a server-centric version control system built for agent-scale development after daily merges grew from 2,500 to over 30,000. Changesets store only file deltas with content-addressed blob pointers, a tiered daemon → regional-cache → authoritative-server architecture delivers over 99% cache hit rates and sub-second checkouts, and derived data structures compute blame/history/ancestry without ever materializing a full repo state — at roughly 200x less infrastructure than the prior Git-mirroring setup. The post drew 781 points and 800+ comments on Hacker News.

claude-agent-sdk-typescript v0.3.299 (Oct 14)

Adds nextFireAt to CronCreate/CronList outputs and property_order to elicitation requests for hosts without JSON key ordering; fixes rewind_conversation mishandling messages stopped mid-hook and queued-message merging dropping line breaks; and now rejects the reserved MCP server names __proto__, __defineGetter__/__setter__, __lookupGetter__/__setter__ to close a prototype-pollution-style vector. Ships in parity with Claude Code v2.1.299.
